We are delighted to announce that Hartlepool United Supporters’ Association are to be our Match Sponsors for our charity cricket match on Sunday 6th July.

A host of former and current Hartlepool, Middlesbrough and Spennymoor Town players are set to take to the pitch at Peterlee Cricket Club in this exciting event which is set to start at 2pm.

Former Pools stars Micky Barron and Graeme Lee will captain two sides which will include the likes of Craig Hignett, Ryan Donaldson, Gary Liddle, Dimi Konstantopoulos and Luke James.

Entry to fans is just £3 for adults and totally free for under-16s, with cash and card payments taken on the gate on the day.

Now organisers at The Roy Simpson MBE Foundation have been given a huge boost with the confirmation that Hartlepool United Supporters’ Association are to sponsor the day.

“We’re really happy to be able to support the Roy Simpson MBE Foundation in this way,” explained Noel Brown, Chairman of the Supporters’ Association.

“A lot of the players involved in the charity match have been favourites with members in The Corner Flag and have joined us at various social functions down the years.

“To see them all coming back together for this event is amazing and we’re excited to see which of them stand out playing cricket in the same way they did playing football.”

As part of their package, representatives from the Supporters’ Association will hand over the trophy to the winning team on the day, while they will also select and present the Man of the Match award.

“I would like to sincerely thank all those at The Corner Flag for their support,” said the Foundation’s Chair of Trustees, Mark Simpson.

“It’s incredibly touching that they have chosen to get behind the Foundation in this way and we’re really looking forward to welcoming them to Peterlee Cricket Club on the day.

“Their backing will give us the opportunity to enhance what we’re doing on what we’re already expecting to be a memorable day so we’re extremely grateful.”

A live Switch of Play event featuring some of the players from the cricket match will also take place in the Clubhouse from 7pm on the same day and tickets are selling quickly.
